Sam Dale is Vice World Champion in Junior Downhill!!!

Val di Sole/Italy. Cannondale Factory Racings own British Junior Downhill racer Sam Dale wins the Silver Medal in Junior Class at Downhill Worldchampionships in Italy. After qualifiying 9th with a crash in his Semi Finals on Thursday, Sam managed to bring down a fluid and failure free Final run. “I could have gone quite a bit faster on this track, but i wanted to bring the run down so bad and tried to not crash. I knew i could be fast enough for a podium, and be beaten by Josh Bryceland is something i can live with for the moment,” a super happy Sam dale said after the ceremony with a UCI Worlds medal around his neck. “ I am so happy about this race, and about how the seasons turns out with constant podiums in Junior World Cups and this medal now. I had some big crashes in practice and the semi finals, so i am super happy with the result of this weekend. I guess one of my dreams came true.

Teammate Joost Wichman did not have the best of luck this weekend and got kicked out by US rider Ross Milan in an unfair move in his quarter Finals, killing all his chances for a better result. “ This race did not go at all the way i wanted it to be. I felt strong on the course all practice long and the track suited me pretty well. I guess some Riders got a bit too excited about worlds and forgot the principles of racing,” a dissapointed Joost Wichman said. “My focus now is on the 2 coming runds of the Word Cup in Canada and the Overall World Cup title.
Duncan Riffle finished a solid 32nd in downhill, having some issues with armpump on the quite demanding track. The team is lloking forward to the coming races and keeps on fighting for podiums and medals.
